• SeizaCon reserves the right to remove or eject anyone from the convention premises without refund at any time at its discretion.
• SeizaCon assumes no liability for accidental injury or damage to personal property during the convention.
• Attendance constitutes consent to the use of an attendee’s image or likeness in future advertising, recording, transmission, or reproduction by SeizaCon, and consent to ejection without refund for failure to follow these rules.
• Attendees must not be disruptive or disrespectful to other attendees, special guests, vendors, artists, SeizaCon staff, volunteers (Minions), venue staff, venue guests, or anyone else in the convention and surrounding space. Disruptive behavior includes running, yelling, loud music, horn honking, horseplay, flying radio-controlled devices, unsolicited physical contact, or any behavior SeizaCon staff deems disruptive or disrespectful.
• Hallways, aisles, and doorways must remain clear. Anyone obstructing traffic may be asked to clear the area.
• Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is prohibited in all convention and general venue areas and within 25 feet of every entrance.
• Rollerblades, skates, skateboards, scooters, heelies, and bicycles are prohibited inside the convention center and venue.
• Costumes judged by SeizaCon staff to be excessively revealing are not permitted.
• No soliciting is allowed on convention grounds. Signs interpreted by staff as solicitation may be confiscated and destroyed.
• SeizaCon is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Consider leaving bags, purses, and personal property in your hotel room or vehicle. Report lost or found items to Lost and Found at the Registration Desk.
• You may be asked to participate in a voluntary search upon entry or at any time during the convention. If staff believe someone refusing a voluntary search poses an immediate threat, authorities will be contacted. A voluntary search may include a bag or purse check, turning out pockets, or prop inspection.
• Anyone damaging or defacing SeizaCon property may be responsible for repair or replacement and immediately ejected.
• Attendees with disabilities, SeizaCon staff, on-duty volunteers, special guests, and vendors are not required to stand in line to enter an event room. Ask convention staff if you need assistance.
• SeizaCon has zero tolerance for theft. Shoplifters will be reported to local authorities, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and banned from SeizaCon for five consecutive years.
• Attendees must follow directions from SeizaCon staff and volunteers, venue security, and venue employees. Refusal may result in immediate removal.
• If you have a problem, question, or concern, contact a SeizaCon staff member or volunteer. They can be identified by distinctive shirts or badges and found throughout the convention or at Registration.
• SeizaCon has zero tolerance for illegal drugs and prohibited alcohol use on site. Anyone possessing or under the influence of illegal drugs, or a minor under the influence of alcohol or another age-restricted substance, will be reported to the proper authorities.
• Sales are not permitted outside the Artist Alley, Dealer/Vendor Room, or another approved event area.
• Be safe: stay hydrated, eat, take breaks, remain with your group when possible, and look after your well-being and the people around you.

Most importantly: have fun.

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at SeizaCon. This policy applies to attendees, guests, volunteers, security, and staff. Everyone is expected to treat others with respect and maintain acceptable behavior.

Harassment is unwanted behavior that creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment for the person being targeted through physical or psychological means. If someone says your comments or behavior are unwelcome, stop immediately and cease contact. It does not matter whether you believe the behavior was harassing; harassment is defined by the person affected.

Prohibited behavior includes:

• Comments about someone’s appearance; sexual or vulgar statements; offensive jokes; or remarks disparaging gender, race, religion, sexuality, identity, or another personal characteristic.
• Bullying or discrimination.
• Whistling, catcalling, non-consensual flirting, or sexual advances.
• Following someone or blocking their path.
• Heckling.
• Photographing or recording someone without permission.
• Exposing oneself or miming sexual acts.
• Bathroom policing—harassing someone because of the restroom they feel most comfortable using.
• Intentionally touching someone without permission.
• Repeated communication, including texts, calls, or emails, after being told to stop.
• Any persistent action that creates a hostile environment for the person or people targeted.

Cosplay does not provide consent to touch or photograph someone. Do not pet, touch, photograph, or otherwise interact with a service animal without the handler’s permission.

Costumes must cover areas normally covered by a bathing suit, including genitalia, buttocks, and nipples unless otherwise specified. Flashing or mooning is harassment and will not be tolerated. Clothing, signs, props, or materials containing explicit content must not be visible in convention space.

Report harassment as soon as possible. SeizaCon takes every report seriously, regardless of who is involved. You may report something even if you were not directly involved. During the convention, an incident-reporting phone number will be posted and listed in the program.

Consequences depend on severity and may include:

• A verbal warning.
• Badge confiscation and ejection without refund.
• A ban from future events organized by the SeizaCon nonprofit.
• Contacting law enforcement.

Report harassment

All weapons and props at SeizaCon must be peace bonded. Report to the cosplay table for inspection and peace bonding. Accepting a peace bond means agreeing to these handling rules.

Peace bonding

A peace bond is a conspicuous lock, tie, or mark that makes or identifies an item as unusable as a weapon and confirms that its owner’s intentions are peaceful.

Weapons not permitted

• No metal or live steel. This includes swords, knives, bayonets, cane swords, throwing stars or shurikens, and other metal objects capable of taking an edge, whether or not the item is actually sharp.
• Real guns and stun guns are not permitted.
• Water guns may be permitted only when empty.
• Airsoft guns may be permitted only when unloaded and retaining the orange tip.
• Keep water and airsoft props inside convention space and away from public venue areas where other guests may feel threatened.
• Absolutely no ammunition. Every magazine must be empty and will be checked.
• No explosives or chemicals, including smoke powder, sparklers, or fireworks.

Props generally permitted after inspection

• Bokken, wooden swords, and walking sticks.
• Wooden baseball bats, provided they are not swung or handled inappropriately.
• Safe, non-dangerous prop weapons made from wood, foam, Bondo, resin, plaster, cardboard, or similar materials.
• Props must not have dangerous conditions such as protruding wires, trip hazards, or elements that could clothesline someone.
• Keep props under eight feet tall and approximately 15–20 pounds. If an item is heavy, the owner must be able to carry and control it safely.

Weapon and prop behavior

• Misuse—such as swinging an item in a public area or creating a hazard—will result in immediate loss of prop privileges.
• If an item is unsafe, staff will require it to be stored in a private room or vehicle. For repeat offenses, staff may escort the owner off convention center grounds so the item can be stored. Illegal items will be turned over to authorities.
• A boxed weapon purchased in the Dealer/Vendor Room must remain boxed and be stored in a private room or vehicle. Any purchase that normally violates the weapons policy must stay packaged and be taken immediately to storage.
• Questionable items are handled case by case. Anything illegal outside the convention is also illegal on convention premises.
• All SeizaCon staff decisions about weapons and props are final.
• LARP gear used outside the convention center may be used in mock battle only while following every safety requirement.

• Outside food and beverages are not permitted, except food-truck purchases.
• If SeizaCon staff, convention center management, or uniformed security determines that a prop or costume is dangerous or unacceptable, the attendee may be required to remove it from the premises.

Dress code and clothing

All attendees must wear appropriate clothing inside the convention center at all times. SeizaCon is family-friendly: no costume is considered no costume, and nudity is prohibited. Costumes must remain properly secured and not be prone to accidental exposure.

• Clothing must cover at least what a two-piece swimsuit or swim shorts would cover—use a public-pool standard.
• Signs and messages on clothing or the body must remain tasteful.
• Clothing, costumes, or signs promoting pedophilia are prohibited. Distasteful images, messages, or words are not allowed.
• Short skirts, kilts, and similar clothing require proper underwear. Inadequate underwear or a lack of underwear may constitute indecent exposure and lead to badge revocation and referral to law enforcement.

Footwear

Wear footwear at all times. Sandals or flip-flops are recommended even when the character is barefoot. Skates and rollerblades may be carried but not worn. Sneaker-skates may be worn only as ordinary sneakers. SeizaCon is not responsible for damage or injury caused by inadequate or improper footwear.

Weapons and play fighting

• Absolutely no live metal steel. See the complete Weapons & Prop Policy.
• Mock fighting and play fighting are not allowed in hallways or general convention areas. Handling props in a way that could harm someone is prohibited, regardless of intent.
• Mock fighting is allowed on stage during the cosplay contest only when carefully rehearsed, reviewed, and approved by cosplay staff.
• LARP is allowed only in designated areas with every safety precaution observed.
• Weapons purchased in the Dealer/Vendor Room must leave the premises and be stored in a vehicle or hotel room. They may not be removed from the box on convention premises.

Large costumes and the three-foot rule

• Keep large costumes as contained as possible and use handlers when helpful. Large costumes or oversized costume parts are not allowed in the Dealer/Vendor Room because they block traffic and create hazards.
• Costume elements may extend no more than three feet from the body in halls or rooms. Masquerade entrants with larger pieces should speak to cosplay staff.
• Keep wigs and loose costume elements from dragging on the floor. Dresses with trains, cloaks, and capes must follow the three-foot rule.

Pictures, consent, and contact

• Do not stop for pictures in small or crowded hallways. Move outdoors, to a less crowded area, or to a designated photo area. Never block doors, ramps, exits, corridors, or aisles.
• Cosplay is not consent. Ask before taking a photo, video, or interview. Respect “no” without argument. Report rude or inappropriate behavior to the nearest staff member or volunteer.
• SeizaCon may remove someone from the convention or cosplay events when their actions create a threat or hazard. Stop unsafe behavior when asked and remain courteous.
• Do not touch, hug, grab, or handle another cosplayer, costume, or prop without explicit consent. Inappropriate or non-consensual contact will result in appropriate consequences.

• Autographs are offered first-come, first-served.
• Line up in an orderly fashion no more than 30 minutes before a session.
• Prepare items before reaching the table. Unroll posters, remove DVD or CD inserts from cases, and open autograph books to the correct page.
• SeizaCon does not set a universal item limit, but individual guests may limit the number to ensure everyone has an opportunity. Be considerate of other attendees and time limits, and ask session staff for the current guest’s limit. Multiple autograph opportunities are typically offered throughout the weekend.
• Guests will not sign body parts.
• Receive the guest’s approval before taking a photograph with them.
• Conversation with guests is welcome, but keep it brief so the line can continue moving.
• SeizaCon staff or the guest must approve personal items for signing. No 18+ materials may be signed.
• A guest may decline to sign any item they consider inappropriate or uncomfortable.
• Guests may accept or decline gifts.
• Attendees may not give food to guests.

• Every photographer must have a valid event badge.
• Photographers must follow the General Rules and Harassment Policy.
• Standing equipment such as lights and backdrops is prohibited for attendee safety and security. Equipment must remain mobile.
• Cosplay is not consent. Ask before photographing an attendee or cosplayer. “No” is a complete answer, and no reason is required.

• Photographers may not solicit sales of photographs or photo sessions on convention property without prior permission.
• Respect venue property, including furniture, landscaping, and equipment.
• Do not disrupt traffic. Step to the side when taking a picture.
• Do not block entrances, aisles, walkways, stairs, or any traffic path.
• SeizaCon is not responsible for personal property, including cameras, equipment, bags, memory cards, or lights. Keep equipment secure and on your person.
• Violations or refusal to comply may result in badge removal and dismissal from the event.
